How much does health and dental insurance cost for a healthy 22 year old male?

If traditional insurance is too much then you could always look into getting a discount medical card. It includes dental, vision, rx, chiro…the whole bag. It will cost you $49.95 a month and it doesn't matter if you smoke or have a pre-existing condition.

  1. It depends on what company you go with, which benefits you want included, are you a smoker, any health problems in you family. check different company's on-line and most of them will probably have a calculator to give you an idea on cost.

  2. From …$60 …..To….$300…..It doesn't work this way.

  3. Depends on where you live and the type of plan. Budget $250 a month for health, and $35 a month for dental. If you add up the dental premiums and see what's covered, you'll notice that you'll be better off paying for your dental out of pocket – the benefits don't add up to what the premiums are.

  4. You need to decide what kind of deductible and co-pay you want to have. The higher the deductible or co-pay, the lower your monthly bill. If your a healthy 22 year old, you might want to get a higher co-pay since you probably won't be at the doctors office much.

It depends on a number of things:
    1. the type of coverage you want (an HMO will be significantly more expensive than a "traditional" plan with a higher deductible)
    2. What insurance company you pick
    3. Your location (In New York, prices vary by county.)

Expect to pay anywhere from $200-$500 a month for health insurance, depending on the type of plan and about $100 a month for a dental DMO.

You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.
